The Eye Sore Collection is a set of illustrations that aim to spread a message of self-reliance through otherwise grotesque images and colors that are hard to look at. Each of these pieces express a stage someone may go through on their journey of self-reliance and understanding the extent on brainwashing. “Mistaken Deliverance” exaggerates seeing a misleading ideology and adopting it as your own without full understanding of what it truly is. “A Sound Infection” shows the result of taking on ideologies like this and how it can lead to harmful outcomes and beliefs. “Directional Embrace” is the first step of fully understanding the harmfulness in an ideology blindly followed and understanding that it needs to be left behind. “Enlightened Complex” Is the true understanding of a misleading ideology from all sides and the acceptance of an ideology that is brought about by your own thinking and research. In other terms, this would be recovery from brainwashing.
